To add components drag them from the right to the black workspace. To position them you can drag them in the workspace, use the arrow keys or enter the exact position in the bottom fields. To select multiple components hold down the shift key or press strg-A. To deselect them hold down the strg-key.
To create the ground click the checkbox "draw ground". Then move the mouse to the workspace. Click in the upper left corner and drag the mouse to the bottom right. Don't wonder you won't see a preview until you release the mouse. To position the ground rectangles you need to select "edit ground" from the combobox. To change width and height you must use the text fields.
Don't forget to deactivate "draw ground" before doing any other editing.
To create connections between component you need to select "edit connections" from the combobox. You will see a lot of pink points. This are the places where connections can end or start. First you need to select the starting point move over a point. It will turn white. Click the mouse and move to the target position. Hold down the "alt"-Key and click the mouse. You'll see a blue connection. That's it.
To change the orientation of the connection select it. Now you can choose between "x" and "y" for the start "S" and the end "E". If you choose "x" the connection will run to the left or to right at the according point. With "y" it will go up or down. If you need to create complexer connections you can use the node component. It will not be exported but can be used to change the direction of a connection.
All connections will be moved with their components.
To enter price and description for your gateway click the arrows next to "Info".
If you've finished editing click "Export" and enter the name of your gateway (without any ending). Three file will be created. Put the gatewayname.txt in  the data/gateways folder in you uplink directory. And the gatewayname.tif and gatewayname_t.tif in graphics/gateway.
